Oceanside, California
Our newest friends, the Hovelns, from Oceanside, CA. We met them in Mexico as they were part of our building project group. On our way to Disneyland, the Hovelns had lunch with us at Ruby's Dinner on the Oceanside Pier. It was such an awesome place and we loved getting to know the Hovelns better. They are really great people. We can't wait to see them next year.( left to right: Brady, Britney, Heather, Brooke, Tom, Vicky, Marie, Steve and Jason Hoveln)Posted by Heather at 1:24 PM 0 comments

Seaworld
Actually, the show was awesome. These killer whales are unbelievable. Definitely the best thing at Sea World.
So cool.
I promised Brooke I would go with her on the Atlantis ride which I wasn't too excited about seeing how they (Tom, Brit, Brooke and Brady) went on the ride earlier in the day and they were wet when they got off. Brady, however, didn't get away with just being wet. He was soaked and pretty much cold the whole day. So, here is the lovely pic Brit took of Brooke and me after hurdling down a waterfall. As you can see, I was prepared to not get wet with my $8 Shamu Water Poncho. I was looking pretty cool.Posted by Heather at 1:07 PM 0 comments

Our Mexico Project
The relief society president was comforting the woman we built the house for. She was so overcome by the things we had done for her. If she only knew how much she had done for us by letting us do this for her.

Dead Men Do Tell Tales- Murder Mystery Dinner
We had such a great time. We couldn't keep from laughing when we all got to the party hosted by my sister Amanda.
My mom was Mrs. Hornswoggle- The Landlady and my dad was Lord Hiram Cheape- The Governor.
I (Heather) was Sukey 'Sugar' Sayles- The Farmer's Daughter and Tom was Diego Doubloon- The Spanish Privateer.
Aspen was Ima O'Pare- The Governess and Jason was Yves Eaux- The Corsair- a pirate.
Dan was Even Keel- The Powder Monkey and Amanda was Bertha Bilgewater- The Serving Wench.
Last, but not least, Julie (Brad's girlfriend) was Habaka Da'bora- The Witch Doctor and Brad was Lieutenant Lee Shore- The Naval Officer.

Anyway, fun and laughs were had by all and I ended up being the muderer or should i say murderess.

Ice Cream Sculptures- Family Fun Night
Brooke's idea for family night this week was Ice Cream Sculptures. Tom and I were skeptical for obvious reasons: melting ice cream, cold hands, mess! Anyway, I bought the ice cream and Brooke couldn't contain herself. She was actually gleeful. So the rules were: hurry and sculpt something before it melts, you have to vote for one but not your own. So the fastest family night in history commenced in our kitchen.
This one is Tom's- we didn't get the picture until after he started eating it. It was a big smiley face!

Summer Camping
This summer we were only able to get one camping trip in. Sad for me- I love the mountains. Anyway, we went up to Gooseberry and camped with my family. We did the 4-wheelin' thing, shot the guns- the big guns, ate well, did the "smore" thing, watched stars, slept badley, played games & best of all, we relaxed!
